A. Most treatments last from 40 minutes to 1 hour

Q. Does it hurt?

A. Tui Na can be soft and gentle or a very firm massage. If there is damaged tissue then it can be a little unpleasant.


General procedure for Medical Tui Na massage.

Questions about health and disease (case history) will be taken to ascertain the level of injury/disease and your constitution. Tongue and pulse diagnosis may be taken to ascertain the conditions of the internal organs. Then various hand, finger and elbow techniques will be performed through the cotton sheet. After the treatment advice may be given on Dietary, Lifestyle and exercise to lessen the effect of disease and to strengthen your constitution. Other therapies used during the treatment of injury are, Cupping, Hot compress, Moxibustion and Infra red heat treatment. After deep tissue massage Chinese herbs may be given to speed up the healing process. The herbs used are usually in tablet form, and taken daily.
